List your products’ manufacturers in your Store
Your store provides the ability to keep a list of your products’ manufacturers or brands and link these details to your product pages. The benefit of this is it allows your customers to not only search your catelog by category or product but also by manufacturer or brand name.
In the footer section of your store, there is a link labelled ‘Brands’. Your customers need only click on this link to open a page listing all of the manufacturers and brands you have recorded and find their products that way.
You can also upload and use an image for each of the manufacturers and brands in a revolving carousel that can be placed at key locations throughout your store.
To add this information you need to record the manufacturers’ information into you store and then link products to the respective manufacturer.
Record Manufacturers’ Information
- Login to your you store admin section
- Hover your mouse pointer over ‘Catelog’ in the top menu bar
- Click on ‘Manufacturers’ in the drop down list
- Click on the ‘Insert’ button near the top right of your screen
You will be presented with a screen similar to this one where you can enter details about the manufacturer or brand.
*Manufacturer Name
Name of the manufacturer or brand.
Stores
If you use multiple stores, select which stores in which this manufacturer will appear.
SEO Keyword
The keyword used for search engine optimization.
Image
Sets the image to use for the manufacturer. Click image to start Image Manager, then select image from your computer.
Sort Order
Sort order determines what order the manufacturers are displayed in. Leave blank for alphabetical order.
Click the ‘Save’ button near the top right of your screen or you’ll have to do this all over again!
Link a product to a manufacturer
Open up an existing product or create a new one and click on the ‘Links’ tab.
The very first field of information on this tab is a drop down box labelled ‘Manufacturer’. The drop down list will contain all the names of manufacturers and brands you have recorded into your store. Just select the name of the manufacturer from this list that applies to this product.
Finally…
Click the ‘Save’ button!
